Island View Holidays is rolling out a new schedule of activities at Rookley in 2018, with everything from treasure hunts to talent shows and art classes running in the school holidays. Activities will change from week to week and month to month, so phone ahead to find out more about schedules and pricing. Most activities cost from £3 per child, with the fee covering resources and helping us to fund a variety of fun things to do across the site.
Of course, your children may be most excited about jumping in the swimming pool. Both our sites have an outdoor pool, with an extra, heated indoor swimming pool at Rookley that’s open year-round*. As a guest, your family will be able to use this facility for free and outdoor pools are open all summer.
Places to Play
There are play parks at both our resorts, with play equipment for children to explore under supervision. St Helens has two play parks at either end of the site, while there’s one at Rookley next to the main complex. Elsewhere on the St Helens site, there are safe, car-free spaces where your children can play, with a large field at the top of the hill.

If you haven’t got a travel cot, or would rather leave it at home to make space in the car, you’ll find that one is available as an extra when you come to book. It’s just £10 per stay - you’ll need to bring your own sheets and bedding to keep your child warm and dry. We recommend the 2 bedroom cottages for families, with no stairs inside and twin beds in the second bedroom (bed guards for toddlers are not yet available, though this may become an option this year). If you’d like to hire a high chair for your stay, it’s just £10 per booking - you can ask at reception or let us know in advance by phone.
The Isle of Wight brings in over 2 million visitors each year, which means there are a huge variety of family-friendly tourist sites. You've probably heard about the brilliant beaches, with a sandy shoreline just down the road at St Helens, while most beaches on the island are less than 30 minutes in the car from Rookley. But maybe you're interested in the other type of attractions you’d expect at a UK holiday resort, like the Isle of Wight Zoo, Carisbrooke Castle and the theme park at Blackgang Chine. For more unusual family fun there's plenty of smaller attractions like Dinosaur Isle, the Garlic Farm and Isle of Sweets Craft Centre. You can find out more about the beaches and these local family visitor attractions in our helpful Isle of Wight guide pages.
If someone in your family may have difficulty getting around, or needs a bit of help, our accessible accommodation will be the perfect home from home. The new Premium Accessible caravans include a hoist in the bedroom, wheelchair-friendly entrances, lowered kitchen counters and a large, ‘disabled-access’ shower room.
